random summer crafts

I made these carolers for my mom. =) They are made from wooden bowling pins, felt, old costume jewelry, doll hair, and other random odds and ends.

I made this "hair flower" out of a fake rose and some beads.

A little girl I babysit made these at my house last week.

The much anticipated....

My scrapbook cabinet is ready to go!! I got it just in time for my birthday. =)
My grandfather made it for me!

Lampshade

I made this lampshade out of extra strands of crocheted yarn. =) I just hot glued each strand around the shade and cut off the excess.

Another site...

I found this site the other day, and I thought I would share it. The cutest items I think they sell are the journals. =)

Is this not the Cutest?!

I'm not sure who made this, but it is so sweet! I have seen these containers sold at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores.

Beauty from a mess

One of my favorite things to do is bring beautiful creations out of a big mess. As you can see, pictured above is my "Mess," and pictured below are my "creations." I have to say, though, my room is not always like this, but it can get rather messy when I'm in a crafty mood. =)
This also reminds me of how Jesus can take any messy situation, and bring something beautiful out of it to the Glory of God.

More Cute Cards!

Cute Kids Cards!
I made these cards for my mom. I used stickers called "Dress-ups" By Provo Craft. I also used a box of patterned blank cards by My Mind's Eye. My favorite one is the one above, and my mom's favorite is the ice skater girl. Which one is your favorite?

My soon-to-be craft cabinet

I am in the process of talking my dad and grandfather into building me a "craft cabinet" to go in my closet. Considering I always do my crafts on the floor of my room, I have always wanted somewhere to store all my craft supplies (especially my scrapbook stuff). The picture above is kinda what it is going to look like. I will post a picture of my blue prints and the finished product soon.

Neat Craft Rooms

Lovely...

These Beautiful, Bold necklaces were made by Wendy Baker. I saw an artical about her work in a beading magizine I get (Stringing), and I thought they were so uniqe and pretty! Here is the link to her website: http://wendybakerdesign.com/
Maybe one day I will be brave enough to try making something simular. =)

What I've been working on...

This is my newest and currently favorite creation! I got all the beads at Michaels and I made it in bed while I had the flu, so I had plenty of time to play around with it and make it just how I wanted it. =) My favorite thing about it is the little bow that ties the two bead strands together.

Skirts

I made these last summer. I used a SUPER easy pattern because I am not too amazing with sewing machines. =) My friend Madisson, however, is amazing!! I will find pictures of some of her master pieces and post them if she doesn't mind.
The skirt above is my favorite! The one below is made from a beautiful sear-sucker (I think that is how you spell it!) Hawaiian print. It looks a lot shorter than it actually is.

Super Easy Fun Bracelets!

These Bracelets are super cute and easily personalized! To make these, all you need is a spoon of stretchy string and a collection of little beads. At Hobby Lobby, Bead Treasures sells some really cute ones in tubes that are hanging in the isle. Can't miss 'em! (the blue and green one above are made with them!) At Michaels, I found some really pretty ones that were solid colors and looked really unique. (the ones below that are solid blue and green are made with them!)

Operation: Valentine

Operation: Valentine
Hey guys and gals!!
I would love to encourage all of you to consider joining me in the next week or two in making or buying valentines to send to our brave soldiers serving overseas.
Even if you are a guy, you could find some store bought cards or get a sister or friend to make some for you to write in.
I did this last year, and I really enjoyed making the cards and writing letters inside of them.
Surely you know of someone who has a family member serving our country who could give you an address to send your cards to. Last year, I made about 30 (with the help of some friends) and sent them to a soldier to pass out to his fellow soldiers.
If you do make and send any, let me know! I would love to hear from you. =)

Tea Cup Candles

Tea Cup Candles
These are soooo cute!! I got the tea cups at the thrift store and poured the candles myself! They were fairly easy to pour and did not take too long to make. The best part was gluing the ribbon and buttons on. =) Again, I got the idea from the book pictured above.
